If you ask us which card we recommend most for beginners, it's the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. This is one we will always have in our wallet! Chase has some of our favorite airline and hotel transfer partners, and with this card you can transfer points directly to those partners 1:1. You can also redeem points via the Chase Travel™ portal for 1.25 cents per point value.
When it comes to everyday spending, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® earns 5x points per dollar spent on travel purchased through Chase Travel™, and 2x points per dollar spent on all other travel purchases. You'll also earn 3x points per dollar spent on dining, online grocery purchases (excluding Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs), and select streaming services. You'll earn 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.
With this card you'll also earn up to $50 in statement credits each account anniversary year for hotel stays purchased through Chase Travel™.
