Reader Success Story to Moab

Pam

Amanda is a fairly new reader of ours. She followed a prior reader success story that we’d published to Moab, Utah, and replicated it! Here is her Reader Success Story to Moab:

Since finding Travel Mom Squad a year ago, I  have taken three domestic trips and have the Netherlands and Denmark booked for May! I am going to tell you about my family’s (me, my husband, and our four-year-old daughter) trip to Moab because I followed your exact tips, and we had a great time!

Flights on Credit Card Miles

On Southwest® Airlines, we flew roundtrip from San Jose, California, to Salt Lake City, Utah. We used a total of 37,000 Southwest® Rapid Rewards® miles for this.

Hotels on Credit Card Points

We booked the Hyatt Place Moab for three nights at 23K points/night. We also booked the Hyatt Place Salt Lake City for one night at 15K points/night. We each opened a card_name for this trip. I opened the first one, referred my husband, and then he opened one as well.

Details of Our Moab Trip

We flew into SLC and rented a car through Turo. We charged this expense to a new card, which helped with our spending requirement.  The drive to Moab was about four hours, and I planned a few stops along the way, including a huge kids’ museum in Lehi.

The Hyatt Place Moab was a perfect choice for us. It featured a large pool, hot tub, splash pad area, breakfast, and gym, and was conveniently located in the center of town. We visited Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and hiked to a waterfall on the Mill Creek Trail over three days. All of these places were within thirty minutes of the hotel.  There were more than enough hikes that even our four-year-old could complete.

There were plenty of hikes for young hikers in Moab.

Moab also had plenty of food choices, a rock shop (our four-year-old loved this), and a dinosaur lovers’ dream open-air museum called Moab Giants.

I booked a night in SLC at the end of our trip so we wouldn’t have a long drive right before our flight. All in all, it was a success! I sincerely thank you all for the information.  My family is traveling more and in a better style because of you!

We love hearing about trips like these, Amanda!  Seeing these reader success stories is why we do what we do.
