Hilton Tokyo Bay to Visit Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea

As someone who aims to visit all six of the Disney Parks, I couldn’t go to Japan without visiting Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. This was Disney Castle #5 of 6 for me, and I could barely contain my excitement!
The Tokyo Disney parks are located in the Tokyo Bay area of the city. It’s about an hour on the metro to get from Tokyo city-center to Tokyo Bay. Knowing this, I knew it would be better to move hotels for the last few nights of our trip. Moving closer to the parks will make getting there first thing in the morning easier for us all. There are many Disney hotels in this area. There is also a monorail (not free, but very convenient) with 4 stops to help get you from the different areas to the two parks.
None of the Disney hotels available fit our family of 5 in one room. Most had a max occupancy of 4. The exception was if you had children aged 6 and under, you could fit 2 additional small children in one room if you planned to bed-share. There also is a Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay nearby. However, like the others, it also did not fit the 5 of us in one room. It also was not on the monorail line, and I didn’t want to rely on a shuttle each day. After doing a lot of reading on nearby hotels, I booked us at the Hilton Tokyo Bay.

Hilton Tokyo Bay Happy Magic Room to Fit a Family of 5
We paid cash for our 3 nights at the Hilton Tokyo Bay. Our rate included breakfast for 2 adults and was about $500/night. Considering that we needed two hotel rooms everywhere else we stayed in Japan and Korea, this seemed like a fair price given it’s proximity to the Tokyo Disney Parks. I also have Hilton Gold status from my American Express Platinum card, which also gives us free breakfast for 2 adults. The hotel allowed us to use that for two of the kids, so we only paid cash for the third kid at breakfast each morning.
Our room was the Family Happy Magic Room. It had 3 single beds and a set of bunk beds. At check-in, I was given a small envelope with a message for the girls. We stepped off the elevators on our floor, and the entire area was so whimsical! There was a giant unicorn painted on the ceiling and big trees with viewing holes to look in, with more animals hidden inside.
Once we got to our room, the girls opened the letter, which was from a fairy friend. There was a giant key on the wall to unlock the story and then a magic mirror. They loved it so much!
Hilton Tokyo Bay Restaurants
There are several restaurants in this hotel. We ate breakfast all three mornings at Lounge O. It was a typical hotel buffet. Be sure to arrive early, as everyone is on the same time schedule to get to the parks by 8 a.m. I appreciated that there was a special priority line for Hilton Honors members. We were seated quickly every morning.
The food had both Western and Japanese options. There was a freshly made omelet station as well. The girls loved that there was a kid buffet that had lots of yummy foods like french fries, waffles, pancakes, etc. As usual, they also ate their weight in chocolate croissants.
On our last night, we ate dinner at the Square: Forest Garden buffet. Again, just like the breakfast buffet, it had a mix of Western and Japanese foods. They had a hamburger station, sliced roast beef, and tons of salad options as well. The dessert bar was quite extensive. They even had a special dessert for the kids. It was a build your own pudding platter. Everything came on a plate, and they could mix and match their toppings.
Hotel Amenities
The Hilton Tokyo Bay has both an indoor and outdoor pool. We were too focused on our Disney days to even go look for them. We were also visiting in April, so the outdoor pool had not yet opened for the season.
There is a small fitness center and a small business center. That’s about where the amenities end. This hotel’s selling feature is its location near the Disney parks.
There is no laundry room, and that was a surprise to me. There was no option for coin-laundry close to the hotel either. The only option would be to send out your clothes through the hotel’s laundry service, paying $3-$5 U.S. for each piece, and I wasn’t going to do that. Instead, we made it work with what clean clothes we had left as this was the last few days of our trip. I did buy myself a new Tokyo Disneyland t-shirt to wear home-which I was likely to do anyways.
