One of the major airlines in the United States is American Airlines. Today, we are going to go over the credit cards that can earn you American Airlines miles. Citi Bank offers four great credit cards that will give you great bonus miles when you apply, get approved, and complete the minimum spend. Barclays also issues two American Airlines cards.
The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard will get you around 60,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $3,000 in three months. The welcome offer fluctuates. It has an annual fee of $99 but is waived the first year. I love when cards waive that annual fee for the first year! Here are other benefits:
The Citi AAdvantage Executive Card is one of those high-annual-fee credit cards. Its annual fee is $450, and if you fly American a lot and want to visit the AA Admirals Club, it might interest you. With this card, you will get an Admiral Club membership (worth $650), plus 50,000 – 70,000 AAdvantage miles ( welcome offer varies) after spending $5,000- $7,000 in three months.
With the AAdvantage MileUp Card you can earn 15,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $500 on this card in 3 months. This card does not have an annual fee. 15,000 AAdvantage miles isn’t a whole lot but sometimes American Airlines will offer some really great web specials where you can find domestic flights for just 5,000 miles each way!
Earn 65,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $4,000 in four months with the Citi Business AAdvantage Platinum Select Mastercard. It has an annual fee of $99 but it is waived the first year.
The Barclay AAdvantage Aviator Red Mastercard is interesting because it doesn’t have a minimum spend requirement. You pay the $99 annual fee and make one purchase on the card and earn a nice welcome bonus! The bonus on this card fluctuates between 50,000 and 60,000 miles.
The Barclay AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard has an offer of 60,000 miles after spending $2,000 in three months. This is a nice option because it doesn’t count towards your Chase 5/24 count.
If you travel American Airlines frequently or live near one of its hubs, you should consider one of the AAdvantage Credit Cards. We have used the miles earned from these credit cards for some great trips. American Airlines also periodically offers amazing web specials where you can get some really cheap flights.
