Reader Success Story: California on Points

Pam

Our latest reader success story comes from Mimi who was also the winner of our random drawing for reader success stories! She told us how she used points to get to California. We loved all your stories and know you can learn from each other about using points. Because of this, we will be including all who sent stories on our blog at some point. Please continue to send your stories in and we will include you in the next drawing! Mimi celebrated her 4-year wedding anniversary on her first Points/Miles trip. Let’s hear her story:

Mimi’s California Anniversary on Points

We just had our 4 year wedding anniversary this weekend! Using the points we earned from our Chase Sapphire Preferred, we were able to get two roundtrip flights from Houston to LAX. We were also able to use points for our rental car! We booked through the Chase portal. Unfortunately, we didn’t use points for the hotel because we didn’t have enough but we will be opening a new credit card to rack up more points.

We want to do Hawaii for our anniversary next year!

I found out about your blog after my sister tagged me on your page. I was getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred and she told me all about what you do and how you give advice on everything. I’ve been learning slowly. This was my first ever experience trying it out! Now, I’ve been referring friends and relatives to get the referral bonus. We are currently looking into other cards.

Using points to get to California and Disneyland made Mimi’s 4th anniversary even more memorable!

Great job Mimi! Remember, you can always request a credit consultation or email us anytime for help in figuring out what card to get next. If you want to make Hawaii your next destination like Mimi, read our posts about how to use points in Hawaii here, here, and here for more information on the best credit cards for Hawaii! We hope you’ll share more of your travels with us in the future!
