We love hearing from readers who we did a consult with and hearing about their successes! Karin tells us how she is doing since then, and her Disney trip sounds truly magical!
Hi moms, (we love her opener!)
My name is Karin, and I found you guys in Dec 2021 on TikTok. I really wanted to travel, but my bank account was not on board with that. I had a consult with Pam and Alex, and from there, I went all in! I bought their Award Travel Academy and really got to work.
My goal was to use credit card points and miles for a Disney trip. But soon, I found I would be able to do so much more. Then Jess joined in a few months later, and they redid the academy. I hesitated to purchase the new course, but I learned so much from the last one and couldn’t risk missing out on even better tips. I’m so happy I did!
Currently, I am working a two-week trip to Portugal for my family of 4. But so far, the best redemption has been my Disney trips, that’s right, two Disney trips in one year for almost free! Here is how I did it.
I opened the cards to get this trip in two-player mode. The only one that we both didn’t open was Venture X.
We used 6 free night certificates and 99,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points to stay at the Swan Reserve. Our resort fees were $275.64. Airfare $33.60 and 79,000 AA miles for tickets worth $1395.60. Our Disney tickets cost $1112.64 but were free thanks to the Capital One Points purchase eraser.
I spent $310 to take my family on a 7-day Disney vacation! If I had paid cash it would have cost us $5,660! Because of all the money I saved, we could do all the extra stuff, such as Genie Plus, Lighting Lanes, special dining reservations, and the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
It was a magical vacation, and it would have taken me at least two years to save for it. Points and miles have changed my life, and the only way to get started is to have a plan and know what the heck you are doing. And the best way to do that is to learn from the pros. I recommend Award Travel Academy to anyone who is even mildly interested in getting into travel points and miles!
