Family Friday Vacation: Oceanside on Points and Miles

Pam

I just returned from another vacation to Oceanside, California, and after staying at the incredible Seabird Resort, I had to do a Family Friday Vacation to Oceanside post. I promise you, this Hyatt hotel will not disappoint – I can’t wait to return myself. Check out all the pictures below – every spot was so cute, beachy, and adorable!

Flights on Miles to Oceanside, California

I flew from Denver to San Diego Airport via United Airlines, and we drove about 40 miles north to the cute beachside town of Oceanside. Many other airlines fly into San Diego Airport including Southwest Airlines so a family of four could fly for about 25K each roundtrip. And with the Southwest Companion Pass, it would only be 75K total. With the current increased Southwest Airline signup bonuses, they could do that with just ONE signup bonus!

You HAVE to stay at the Seabird Resort, a Destination by Hyatt. It is steps from the beach and the cutest property ever. I would love the designer to design my house because it is absolutely gorgeous but also very family-friendly. They have a game room, fitness center, movies at night for children, and a great swimming pool area with ocean views. This Hyatt hotel makes for a great family vacation to Oceanside.

It is a category six hotel and can be booked for 25K Hyatt Points a night or 21K off-peak. It is well worth these points. We arrived and were upgraded to a full ocean-view room. Inside the room, chocolates were waiting. They also provided two metal water containers that could be filled on each floor. As a Globalist, breakfast was included, valet parking fees were covered, and the $46/night resort fees were waived.

These credit cards could get you 3-4 nights at this hotel, depending on which you applied for.

This looks so charming! I am adding this to my list, along with Hyatt Regency Lost Pines that was mentioned on your podcast. Will there be an article for that one?
Thank you for sharing more domestic destinations. 🙂

How many per room? A family of 8! Trying to decide on 2 rooms. Didn’t see any suites.

    • Pam says:

We had a room with two queen beds, so you would need two rooms. Alex did get a suite and was able to do 6 for her family but they were all pretty tiny then.
