Friday Family Vacation: The Hamptons

Pam

There is a place that just sounds so bougie to vacation in and I’ve never been there—the Hamptons. Maybe if I do a post about it, I might make it happen someday. Let’s do a Friday Family Vacation to the Hamptons so we can all feel bougie!

Flights

You used to be able to fly into East Hampton airport, but I guess it is a private airport now, so we will fly into JFK or LGA and rent a car. The Hamptons is about 3 hours from JFK, so let’s pick that as our arrival airport. Since I am the girl dying to vacation there, let’s leave from Denver. I can fly there nonstop on Delta or JetBlue.

This flight will cost me a little under 25K miles/person.

To book this flight, I could transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Citi ThankYou Points to Jet Blue 1:1, or I could transfer AMEX Membership Rewards 1.25:1. I could also get a co-branded Jet Blue card from Barclays.

Lodging

Honestly, I had NO idea what I would find for lodging on credit card points and miles in the Hamptons. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Hyatt Place (for a more budget-friendly option) and a couple of Small Luxury Hotels (for a more bougie option in a bougie location)! 😜  Sadly, the SLH stays would require two rooms (so a LOT of points).

How heavenly does that look, though?

I think our family of four would probably stay at the Hyatt Place Long Island/East End. It is advertised as the perfect gateway to the Hamptons, and at 15K Hyatt points/night, it would be very affordable for our family of four.

I would use points earned from the following cards to book my Hamptons stay:

Bottom Line

No matter where you choose to vacation, credit card points and miles can make it happen. If a bougie vacation is your dream, follow our Friday Family Vacation to the Hamptons! You can be sure I am planning to check it out soon!
