Friday Family Vacation to Bahamas

Pam

The Bahamas is a beautiful country located in the Atlantic Ocean, specifically in the Caribbean region. The country is known for its stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs, which attract visitors from all over the world. It is a popular spot for water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing. Friday Family Vacation to the Bahamas is on!

Flights

American Airlines is one of the best airlines for flying to the Caribbean. We are flying from Dallas, so let’s see what we can find.

25K miles round-trip to the Bahamas is reasonable. Our family of four can fly for 100K miles round-trip. We can get there with a just a couple of credit cards.

Lodging

Many people want to stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. It is a category 6 Hyatt hotel, so you can book standard award nights for 25K Hyatt points/night. Here is an option I found for even cheaper!

Another option would be to use IHG points and stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Notice that it is even more expensive than the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (which is a much fancier resort). Just another example of how Hyatt offers outsized value.

Want to use the facilities at the famous Atlantis? You can book a stay at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island and it comes with access to Atlantis. American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One Venture Miles, and Citi ThankYou Points all transfer to Choice Hotels. Citi transfers 1:2 to Choice Hotels making it an excellent option for Choice stays!

You could use these cards for a stay there:

Just booked 4 days for my daughters sweet 16th!! Using southwest companion pass for her. Booked Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for 29k points a night. It’s peak time but that’s ok! It’s a big birthday surprise! Taking her bestie with us.

Earned globalist this year so should maybe get an upgrade and for sure breakfast!!

So excited to be able to do this for just food/drink cost
