Friday Family Vacation to Grand Cayman

Pam

All three of us have stayed at the Kimpton Seafire in Grand Cayman. And all three of us would like to go back. We also think it is a great place for a family trip, so our Friday Family Vacation to Grand Cayman is here!

Flights

Flights to the Caribbean can be made on most airlines with credit card points and miles. American Airlines is a great way to fly there, so today we are using what is undoubtedly the “best points and miles deal EVER” by grabbing two of the Barclays Red Aviator Cards, where we only have to spend $1 to get at least 70K AAdvantage miles!

A family of four can travel with the spend of only $1 each on two of these cards—truly AMAZING!

Lodging

The Kimpton Seafire costs 70K IHG points/night. However, the fourth night on award redemptions is free. That means, for 210K IHG points, a family can have a 4-night stay here. The bad news is that there is an $80/night resort fee, but that covers a lot of fun things, and considering that the rest of the vacation is nearly free, I will pay it. Also, kids under 5 eat free at Kimpton Seafire, and there’s an evening social hour that includes Capri Sun and fruit snacks for the kids!

This is no ordinary stay either, and it will give your family a taste of the good life as this is a beautiful resort on a beautiful beach! Play on the beach, relax by the pool, or go off and explore Grand Cayman! I guarantee that the whole family will create some lasting memories on this trip.

Bottom Line

One of the nicest parts of our Friday Family Vacation to the Grand Cayman Islands is that the minimum spend on the four cards is only $192. This isn’t your normal family hotel, though, and your family will enjoy some luxury as you create some wonderful memories together.

Can you combine IHG points from a player 2?

Looks so amazing! Jess, did you have a car at Kimpton? I’m so nervous about driving on the other side of the road, ha ha!

  3. Traci says:

Are you able to combine AA miles with your player 2? Or for a family of 4 would you book 2 separate award flights for 2 and hope they line up?

  4. Sheryl Lawhon says:

Do you have to pay the taxes on a reward stay, or is it only the resort fee of 80.00 per night?
