Glamping on Points and Miles

Alex

Our next reader’s success story is an unusual redemption. Instead of staying at a plush hotel, they went glamping on points and miles! Brittany’s experience sounds amazing!

Glamping

It’s time for some glamping!! I’ve always wanted to do it, and we finally booked it- for free!! We chose Zion National Park for our first glamping experience.

My husband opened a Southwest Credit Card at the end of 2019. We have a ton of Southwest points and a companion pass. For our flights, we used 32,256 Southwest points for my husband’s flight from New Orleans- Las Vegas and back and I was his companion for free!

We rented a car through the Chase travel portal. We used 15,260 Ultimate Rewards that I had from my Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom credit cards for a 4-day rental. Off to Zion we go!!!

For our glamping experience, we chose Under Canvas. They have locations for most of the popular National Parks. To book this, I referred my husband for a Chase Sapphire. At the time, the welcome offer was 80,000 points. After he got his signup bonus, we combined some of my Ultimate Rewards with his to book Under Canvas through the Chase travel portal. It was 103,740 points for 3 nights.

Glamping on points and miles looks pretty nice!

After hiking for 3 days, we needed a fun and relaxing night before we traveled back home to our 2 kids. So we decided to spend a night in Las Vegas! I transferred 25,000 Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt, and we booked The Bellagio for our last night.

Thankfully because of points, we could spend money on great food, good drinks, and an amazing experience!

Bottom Line

We love seeing a different use of points and miles, Brittany! Thanks for sending your story to us – it’s great to see more possibilities that this points and miles game can offer us! Glamping on points and miles sounds like a great adventure!
