Hyatt Hotel Hopping in Paris

Pam

Alex and I decided to do some hotel hopping on a trip to Paris to see what our favorite recommendations would be for our readers. Changing a hotel every one or two days may sound horrible to some of you, but we like to check them out. Here are the results of our Hyatt hotel hopping in Paris on points! Also, here is Jess’ review of the Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris. Want to know how to get the points to stay at one of these hotels? Get our guide to Hyatt points!

Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile

Our first night was at the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile. The best thing about this hotel is that it is a Category 4 stay, so you can use a free night certificate from the World Of Hyatt Credit Card here. This is HUGE! We wondered if we would like it because it is a very economical stay for as little as 12,000 Hyatt points. The cash rate is about $350, which is a great value – especially in Paris. Just one welcome offer with the card_name will get you 4 nights free here!

The room wasn’t huge, but that is normal for Europe. We didn’t have a view of the Eiffel Tower from our room (we kicked ourselves for not asking for one), but we enjoyed this fantastic view of the tower from the Club Lounge! The breakfast (complimentary for Globalists) was great, but a view like this was priceless! You can also enjoy these views by visiting the Windo Bar for drinks and/or tapas. We wish we had gone upstairs for a coke and a small bite to eat and viewed “our girl” lit up at night.

These views took our breath away!

All in all, we both agreed this was a great redemption. We would return to stay here and recommend it to people who want to save on points. The staff was excellent, and we liked the location. We could walk to the Arc de Triomphe in about 20 minutes.

The room at the Hyatt Regency Etoile was smaller but adequate.

Hyatt Hotel du Louvre

Our second night was spent at the Hotel du Louvre (category 7), located around the corner from—you guessed it—the Louvre museum. The room was quite large for Paris, and the hotel had cute artwork and branding throughout. When we returned from a tour of Versailles, we were gifted a bottle of sparkling lemonade and Madelines.

This room was a more expensive redemption, and we paid more because we couldn’t get a standard room. You can book it for as little as 30,000 points, though. The staff was phenomenal and went out of their way for us in every way, especially to get a taxi when we left during a busy time.

The buffet breakfast also had made-to-order options. It was 30 euros a person but would be free for Globalists. It was an excellent breakfast.

Both of us enjoyed this hotel and its location. It is a fun area with many eating spots and is central to the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. It is a very active and busy location. Hyatt Hotel Hoping in Paris is excellent when you find a gem like the Hotel du Louvre.

By European standards, this bedroom at the Hotel du Louvre, was large.

Raphael Hotel

The Raphael Hotel is a part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Hyatt had a relationship with them when we were there. This relationship has since ended. Alex and I were most excited about this stay. To be honest, it was a disappointment. Not only did we spend the most for the room at 29,000 points, but we also didn’t get an upgrade.

It is a really old, vintage hotel that looks very Italian. It has beautiful moldings on the ceilings and a lot of brocade and velvet everywhere—many people would just love it! Alex and I both prefer a more modern, clean vibe, I guess. However, the room and bathroom were quite large by European standards.

Four macarons and a bottle of what we assumed was wine were welcome gifts. We don’t drink alcohol, but we appreciate the gesture, and the macarons were 👍.

The hotel was central to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysee, about a five-minute walk. It was also about a 20-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower.

We did get our free breakfast each morning. Although the outdoor terrace was closed for the season, it had beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower.

Bottom Line

While Hyatt Hotel hopping in Paris may not be something most people would like to do, it was fun for us. We would definitely return to the top two hotels. What hotels in Paris have you stayed at that you can recommend?
