Increased Welcome Offer on United Credit Cards

Pam

My home airport (Denver) is a United hub, so the cobranded United credit cards have always been a part of my points-and-miles strategy. I’ve had all of them at one time or another! Right now, there’s an elevated welcome offer on United credit cards. Is it time for you to grab one? We’ve covered these cards in detail before, so let’s run down the increased offers!

Here are the cards that have elevated offers right now:

Besides earning miles from your card spending and being able to take advantage of the benefits that come with your card (e.g., United Club access, free checked bags), another great reason to have a United card is that it unlocks the ability to see more saver award seats than someone who doesn’t have a United card!  It also shows you discounted award-ticket pricing, so you can not only see more flight options, but cheaper ones, too!  Some of the best saver award fares are offered only to cardholders, and that can save you a lot of miles when you’re booking tickets.

Any of the United cards above will let you see more saver award seats—even the United Gateway℠ Card, which has no annual fee.  So if you’re not sure which card would be best for you, you could try one of the cards that comes with benefits you might want to use and then see how much you use them.  After the first year, you could always downgrade your card to a no-annual-fee United Gateway℠ Card and still have access to that extra saver award space!

In this example, you save 4K miles on the economy class ticket as a cardholder.

Bottom Line

If you have considered getting one of the United cards, now might be a great time! Not only will you get an increased welcome offer, but can also get some great benefits. Whether you use those miles for domestic travel or splurge on some business-class seats, it’s worth it.
