Kimpton Hotels Are My Favorite IHG Brand

Pam

I just completed a stay at the Kimpton Margot Sydney, and it confirmed to me that Kimpton Hotels are my favorite IHG brand. Let me tell you why:

Boutique Feel

Kimpton Hotels have a very boutique feel. They are all different, and many were built on historical sites. They have 75+ boutique hotels in 55+ destinations.

This is what they say on their site, “You deserve a hotel as unique as you are. Every Kimpton takes your experience personally. Your wishes inspire us to delight you in unique ways making your stay the escape you didn’t know you needed.” And that describes my stays in them.

Here are some of the normal experiences they provide:

  • Morning coffee in the lobby
  • A nightly hosted social hour with wines
  • Public bikes for use
  • Yoga mats in each room
  • Pets welcome

The Kimpton Margot Sydney had a spacious room and a cool vibe.

Secret Password

Kimpton’s have a secret password to unlock a special treat or gift. The winter password was “The snuggle is real.”  You can google “Kimpton secret password” to see what it is when you go to one of their hotels. Knowing it got us this:

Small popcorn container, candy and note about the word snuggle.

We got a movie night with treats for knowing the secret password!

Unique Charm

Each Kimpton Hotel has its own unique charm. The Kimpton Born in Denver definitely has a Colorado feel with its wood sidings in the rooms. The Kimpton Margot Sydney had a cool 50’s feel, complete with music played from that era. I am always looking forward to a stay at a Kimpton. I want to see the lobby, and I want to see my room decor. They never disappoint. I guess that is why Kimpton Hotels are my favorite IHG brand!

How to Use Points for a Free Stay

You can earn IHG points for nearly free stays at Kimpton hotels with the card_name, card_name, or the card_name. Additionally, the Premier cards offer a free night certificate that I can usually use for a Kimpton stay.

Remember, the personal cards do count towards your 5/24 status, so you might want to apply for a business card over a personal card if possible. Alex and I have a pretty amazing stay coming up soon at the Kimpton Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman, so stay tuned for how we booked that hotel with one credit card welcome offer and some purchased points.

Bottom Line

Sometimes people think of IHG hotels only for family-friendly stays (like Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites). I love them primarily for stays at the Kimpton brand. Do you have a Kimpton hotel you would recommend?

The staffs are rude and they make me wait so long for the service. They charge me more than what is on the website and did not refund me
