Nobis Hotel Palma Review

Pam

Did I just stay at a hotel that may be my new favorite? I am on a trip to Mallorca after visiting Madrid and Barcelona. I left Alex and Jess in Barcelona and flew to Mallorca to meet another of my daughters. First stop: Nobis Hotel Palma in Mallorca, Spain. It was love at first sight. The hotel is set in a 12th-century medieval palace in the heart of Palma’s Old Town.

If you’re planning a trip to Palma and want a hotel that feels special without being over-the-top, Nobis Hotel Palma might be just what you’re looking for. Tucked into the charming streets of the Old Town, this boutique hotel blends history with simple, modern style. It’s actually set in a restored 12th-century palace—how cool is that?—but still manages to feel cozy and laid-back.

From the peaceful rooftop terrace to the thoughtfully designed rooms, it’s a great spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. In fact, we rushed back after sightseeing because we couldn’t wait to hang out at the hotel, enjoy its amazing scents, and sit in a comfy chair talking about how exquisite the décor was.

The Redemption

Nobis Hotel Palma is bookable through Marriott. It is one of Marriott’s Design Hotels™, and you can book a room like the one we had (probably the most basic room on the property) for 80,000 points per night. But I actually used two 85K free-night certificates. The cash cost was €540 per night, or about $613 in USD.

Our Room

Our room was not huge, but the high, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams made it seem larger. Floor-to-ceiling shutters that opened up to a quaint street added to the character.  The bathroom area consisted of a toilet and shower (both quite small), and the sink and vanity area were located in the room. Everything was made of natural materials like concrete, wood, and rock—gorgeous!

There are only 37 rooms and suites in the hotel, so it definitely has a boutiquey feel. We loved Every. Single. Thing. About this hotel.

While the bedroom and bathroom areas were small, they had character.

The Hotel: Character Galore

What makes Nobis Hotel stand out is how it balances old and new. The building features original stone arches, tall wooden doors, and subtle historical touches, but the rooms are bright and modern. Think crisp white bedding, soft lighting, and thoughtful design that doesn’t feel fussy. It’s stylish and I’d love my whole house to be decorated this way.

I mean, it was a palace at one time, so that says a lot about the general feel. The art, the furniture, the exposed beams, and the exposed rock are simply gorgeous. From the minute I walked in, I didn’t want to leave.

One of the best parts of staying here is how easy it is to explore Palma on foot. The hotel is right in the heart of the Old Town, just a few minutes from the cathedral and lots of fun shops and restaurants. We loved being able to pop out for gelato and wander through the little streets. We had a car but left it in the parking garage nearby during our stay.

Natural elements, combined with gorgeous paintings and lush greenery, set the mood.

Relaxing Perks

If you’re the type of traveler who likes to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing, Nobis has a few lovely extras that make a difference. There’s a quiet rooftop terrace with lounge chairs, and it was nice to read up there. They also have a little spa area with a sauna and a gym if you’re up for it. It’s not a large resort, so it never felt crowded or overwhelming, which we really appreciated. Note that there is no swimming pool. (It wasn’t hot when we were there, so we didn’t miss it.) There are many beaches nearby, so a pool is probably not necessary.

Rooftop lounge chairs offered a nice area to read.

Dining On-Site (or Nearby)

The hotel has its own restaurant called Noi that we ate at on the first night. It features a Mediterranean-inspired menu, and we paid approximately $100 for two people, which included fish, steak, and sides. Quite fancy, honestly, but very good. One of the best aspects of Palma is the abundance of excellent food options nearby.

Beautiful Noi Restaurant.

We ate breakfast at the hotel each morning, as it was included in the room rate. There was a wide variety of options offered, as well as made-to-order eggs.

The breakfast buffet was expansive.

Bottom Line

Would I stay again? Definitely, Nobis Hotel Palma in Mallorca is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a little hidden gem. I feel like it’s my new discovery and I can’t wait to tell everyone about it (and return to it). It’s incredible and in a location that just can’t be beat. Whether you’re doing a couples’ getaway or a girls’ retreat, this hotel hits that sweet spot.
