Our Favorite Business-Class Flights

Pam

Today we’re sharing some of our favorite business-class flights. While we usually fly in economy class when traveling with our families, we sometimes splurge for business class internationally. (To be honest, Pam always does 😜.) Here are some of our faves!

Jess’s Picks

Turkish Airlines

The food is SO good. I flew from Denver to Istanbul for just 65,000 Turkish miles (transferred from Capital One). The Turkish business-class lounge in Istanbul is also amazing.

Turkish Airlines for the win!

Emirates Business Class (on the A380)

I’ve flown this aircraft a few times between JFK and Milan. I love the on-board bar and lounge; the service is always excellent. I redeemed 87,000 Emirates miles for this flight. All four major banks transfer to Emirates, making it really easy to rack up these miles.

A bar on board? No wonder Jess picked Emirates! 😜

Qatar Qsuite

Qatar Qsuite is my favorite business class I’ve ever flown. This was a bucket-list redemption for me and I was able to make it happen on my flight home from the Maldives in March 2022. I paid 70K miles for this flight and booked it via American Airlines. The seats were nice and spacious and had sliding doors for more privacy and large entertainment screens at each seat with a great selection of movies. The crew gave us comfortable pajamas and also served an incredible Nutella-stuffed doughnut! I can’t wait to fly Qsuite again!

Another business-class flight I loved was my flight from Chicago to Istanbul in 2018. This was my first ever business-class flight, making it extra special and one I’ll always remember! I flew Turkish Airlines and booked my seat for 70K United Miles (now saver awards will cost 88K points). The flight was on one of Turkish Airlines’s older aircraft but it was still very comfortable. They made our beds for us and had the cutest tea lights for a candlelight dinner in the skies. Turkish has some of the best food I’ve ever had on a plane!

Singapore Airlines

I love Singapore Airlines business class so much that I am willing to pay over 100K to fly on it—not the cheapest redemption, but the flight, the food, and the impeccable service make it worth it to me. I have flown it to the Maldives, back from Singapore, and am flying it to and from Thailand this spring. As I’ve said before, I swear that if I clear my throat, a flight attendant runs to me to check to see if they can help. Their uniforms are gorgeous and the flight attendants always look so polished!

I love their wide seats and how the flight attendants make your bed for you. I am willing to pay more for quality and I can always depend on Singapore Airlines to offer that!

Look at how huge this seat is on Singapore Airlines!

United Airlines

Surprisingly, one of my other fave business-class seats is United Polaris. Two things make this a winner for me—I get to go to a United Polaris Club Lounge (love their cookie skillets 😜) and they have fantastic Saks Fifth Avenue bedding. Additionally, I have had excellent service on their flights. I am also a somewhat picky eater (other than treats) and I can always count on finding something I will enjoy for dinner on their business-class flights.

Megan’s Pick

KLM

My favorite one is easy because I’ve only flown one so far and that is KLM. We love flying Air France and KLM to or from Europe as there is tons of saver availability from our closest big airport, Toronto, and kids ages 2 to 11 get a 25% discount on award flights. With three kids under age ten, this extra discount is great for us!

Coming home from our summer trip to Italy and the Paris Olympics, we flew KLM business class non stop from Amsterdam to Toronto for only 212,500 points total for our family of 5! That was only 50k points per adult and 37,500 points per child, plus about $280 in taxes/fees per person.

The crew was so lovely, they had special kids meals, and we loved the extra space we had to spread out. We loved it so much, we have another KLM business-class flight booked coming home from Croatia for our spring break trip this April, and we can’t wait to add to our Delft blue house collection.

Megan’s first and only (so far) business class flight was on KLM.

Traci’s Picks

Turkish Airlines

I flew Turkish Airlines business class on a Dreamliner from Seattle to Istanbul to meet up with friends for a girls’ trip, and I was really impressed by their business-class product and absolutely loved my flight.  When I booked my ticket, it cost 45,000 Turkish miles and $215.30 in taxes and fees (but Turkish devalued their awards in early 2024, so this same ticket would cost somewhat more now).

The food and service onboard were wonderful.  I was delighted by all the nice little touches throughout the meal service, like the adorable salt and pepper shakers, the LED “candlelight” that adds a little fun to the meal, and the elegant presentation of all the different dinner courses.  And it didn’t just look great—the food was excellent.  I found the seat itself to be very comfortable and I managed to get the most sleep I’ve ever gotten on a plane.

The “extra” touches make Turkish Airlines spectacular!

That wide seat made for a great night’s sleep.

Air France

My family of four flew Air France business class from Los Angeles to Rome, connecting in Paris.  One of the best things about Air France business-class awards is how accessible they are to families.  Although Air France business-class award space seems to have disappeared in general in the last few months, normally you can find four or more seats on the same flight.  We used 272,000 Flying Blue miles and $892.80 in taxes and fees for all four of us, which breaks down to 68,000 miles and $223.20 per person.

I thought the food was delicious and found the seats to be comfortable, though their bedding isn’t as great as United’s. Overall, it’s a solid choice, and when you factor in how much availability there is for families (when there’s not an award-space drought), it’s one of my favorite practical options.

Enjoying Air France business class.

Bottom Line

While there is not a “bad” business class seat or redemption—it always beats economy—these are some of our favorite business-class flights. You can see that the majority of us (me included) love Turkish Airlines. What is your favorite business-class flight?
