All About Delta Airlines Credit Cards

Pam

Let’s talk about Delta Airlines and its credit cards. Personally, I really like Delta. Their seats are super comfortable, and I like to use them so I can use the Delta SkyClub Lounges! I get to visit Delta Sky Clubs almost anytime I fly Delta, thanks to The Platinum Card® from American Express

Delta Airlines’ frequent flyer program is the SkyMiles program, and you can sign up for a free Delta SkyMiles account.  I recommend doing this as it greatly increases your odds of getting targeted signup offers. Delta is part of the SkyTeam Alliance along with:

  • AeroMexico
  • China Eastern
  • KLM
  • Korean Air
  • LATAM
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Air France
  • AeroEuropa
  • ITA Airlines
  • Kenya Airways
  • China Airlines
  • Vietnam Airlines
  • Garuda Indonesia
  • Aerolinas Argentinas
  • Czech Airlines
  • XiamenAir
  • TAROM
  • Middle East Airlines
  • Saudi Airlines

Delta Credit Cards

If you live near a Delta hub and fly Delta Airlines often, consider getting a Delta credit card. They are all offered by American Express, so they are subject to the once-in-a-lifetime bonus rule. That is why you want to get them when the bonus offer is elevated. Consider opening a Delta business card if you are concerned about adding to your Chase 5/24 count.

Delta SkyMiles® Blue American Express Card

The Delta SkyMiles® Blue American Express Card is the no-annual fee Delta card. It is a good option if you want to downgrade one of your Delta cards. Remember that you won’t get a welcome bonus when you downgrade. This bonus is just 10,000 miles though so nothing to get too excited about.

Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card

The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card is our favorite card for those starting with Delta cards. The welcome offer on this card fluctuates. I would only recommend signing up if the welcome offer is 60,000+ points. .

Delta recently changed their rules for the Delta card so that it now says: You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card, the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or previous versions of these Cards.

That means this should be the first Delta card you start with if you want to continue getting Delta credit cards, or you could be out of luck in getting the other ones.

Delta Flash Sales

One of the best ways to save money on Delta Airlines flights is to sign up for their flash sale alerts. Flash sales are the perfect way to book a flight, whether you want to use a few miles to get somewhere or spend less cash. I mean, who doesn’t love a good sale?

Other Ways to Get Delta Miles

Did you know that American Express Membership Rewards® is a partner with Delta Airlines? This is my favorite way to get more Delta Skymiles. I have a lot of Membership Rewards and transferred some to Delta when I went to Maui. Gotta love a good credit card with transferable points!

I flew home from Maui on Delta Airlines using SkyMiles!

Bottom Line

Delta Airlines is a great choice for traveling. The seats are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and there are plenty of ways to use SkyMiles. I have taken great advantage of Delta Airlines Credit Cards for some great flights.
