New United Club Lounge at the Denver Airport

Pam

There is a new United Club Lounge at the Denver Airport. It is located in Concourse A near gate 25. Now, here is a statement that I never thought I’d make—this United Club Lounge is gorgeous! United must be upping their game in the lounge department. Not only is it sleek, modern, and gives off Colorado vibes, but the food is excellent! In fact, this may be my new favorite lounge at Denver International Airport.

Escalators going up to airport lounge

Just going up the escalators, I could see that this United Club Lounge would be better!

I have long been a massive fan of the American Express Centurion Lounge in Denver (when it isn’t overcrowded). However, their food doesn’t change much, and it is often difficult to find a good seat. I am SO excited to have options now. The Capital One Lounge is also opening soon (and is located near the United Club Lounge in Concourse A). I could see that they are decorating it and putting the finishing touches on 🎉 This airport lounge geek is so excited!

The United Club in Concourse A, Denver has a cool Colorado vibe.

United Club Lounge Concourse A

As I went up the escalator to the lounge, it was obvious that this would be good. The color scheme of white, blue, and wood was gorgeous. Self check-in was easy. I used one of my two United Club lounge passes from my United Explorer Card—just another reason why this card is a “must-have” for travelers in United hubs.

There are many different seating areas, and I noticed a lot of very private sections for solo travelers which was nice. There were also tables that sat groups of people traveling together, clusters of comfortable chairs, and just generally many options. I saw a fireplace that added to the ambiance of the lounge. It had a ski-lodge feeling and I loved it!

Food included hot and cold options. I had a cold deli sandwich with turkey, cheese, pesto, and tomato, and it was great. I also had some yummy macaroni and cheese and a few chocolate chip cookies. Some of the other items I saw were:

  • Pork tenderloin with apples
  • Large ravioli or manicotti
  • Salad Bar
  • Dessert area
  • Snack jars with candy, nuts, banana chips, etc.

There were other items, but I was in a hurry and grabbed my items quickly. There was a large bar and also a soda machine that let you pick your favorite soda.

I was impressed with the food options!

United Club Lounges Concourse B

Most United flights depart out of Concourse B. There have always been two lounges there—the United Club West and the United Club East. They are finishing up renovations on the United Club East, and I am hoping it is done in the same way as the new lounge in Concourse A. Once those are complete and it reopens, they will then move on to the renovations in the west wing of Concourse B.

United Club East will be the largest United Club in their system at 36,500 square feet. Now I need to check that one out once it reopens! Before the renovations, it was a tired and worn lounge with unimpressive food and an even less impressive aesthetic.

United Polaris Lounge

It gets better—we are getting a United Polaris Lounge! This has long been one of my favorite lounges with buffet food and a la carte ordering in their dining room, including their famous cookie skillet! The Polaris Lounge will also be housed in the Concourse A area, which is a great area because you can go through security without having to get on the train. Additionally, United plans to move most of its long-haul flights to Concourse A.

The famous cookie skillet at United Polaris Lounges has me excited that Denver is getting one!

Bottom Line

Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of United Lounges. Sure, I use my two Explorer passes when there are no other choices in an airport, but NEVER in Denver. The new United Club Lounge at the Denver Airport and all the renovations they are doing (including a new Polaris Lounge) have me rethinking things. Here’s another statement that I never thought I’d make—this girl may be getting a United Club Card so I can change over my lounge allegiance!

Pam’s going to be a lounge hopper now, in addition to a hotel hopper. 🙂

  2. Lisa says:

Can you get into this United lounge with priority pass from Amex? I only have 2 passes through United and need another way to get in our 3rd travel partner.

    • Pam says:

Unfortunately, no. Only with those passes from United which is why I am considering the United Club card, one I NEVER thought I’d get!

  3. Justin says:

Thanks for the updates. I’ll check out the club in A tomorrow morning!

  4. Sitting in the United A lounge now (based on your review). Hoofed over from low B’s. Very chic and upscale for a domestic lounge, no less United lounge. Nice review.
