Reader Success Story to Key Largo

Pam

It may seem too good to be true when we show you how to take a nearly free vacation on points and miles. However, we have hundreds of stories of readers who have also used credit card points and miles for nearly free travel. This proves that ANYONE can do this—even YOU! Here is a reader success story to Key Largo that proves this. Sometimes a trip in the United States is perfect for one of your first redemptions!

Sarah’s Credit Card Points and Miles Trip for Pennies on the Dollar

My family just experienced our BEST REDEMPTION YET at Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo! In a 4 to 5-month period, I opened the American Express Hilton Surpass and the American Express Gold Card. With the welcome offers, I was able to earn 360,000 Hilton points (Amex transfers to Hilton 1:2).
This was enough to book this 90,000 points/night stay (5th night free). We went over New Year’s Eve (an expensive time) and were upgraded to a waterfront room that would have cost my family over $7,000! We definitely scored!

Review of Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo

Amazing! The room was nice, with a king pull-out sofa. The decor really made you feel like you were in The Keys! We had a small fridge, which was convenient. The sunset balcony view was to die for!
We tried both property restaurants, and the food and drink service was fantastic everywhere. With all of the money we saved on the stay, I had no problem ordering food beachside and splurging a little there. The staff was top-notch. The complimentary sunset champagne toast each evening was fantastic!

The beach is private; you must pull into the gated resort to access it. There are 2 beach areas: The first is a large area with several chairs, a beach bar, and activities. Then, there’s a smaller, private area secluded in the mangrove trees. The serene beauty of the property is unparalleled. Because we were there for New Year’s Eve, we witnessed a spectacular fireworks display over the water.

Amenities at Baker’s Cay Resort

The hotel charges $45/day for the amenities, but the property waived those for us since we were Hilton Gold members paying with points. This resort had countless amenities—an adult and family pool, hot tub, fitness center, bicycles, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, fishing poles, and MANY activities. My kids, ages 4 and 8, participated in dodgeball, science time, coaster painting, canvas painting, movie night, s’mores on the beach, pool games, and foam parties! We did not leave the resort at all in our 5 nights/6 days.
