I’ve really enjoyed my stays at the Thompson Central Park in NYC and The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. We have our own Thompson Hotel in Denver, but I hadn’t stayed there until recently, and I thought it was about time that I did, so I could review it! Spoiler alert: I liked it so much that I’ve stayed there two more times recently! Here is my review of the Hyatt Thompson Denver:
The Hyatt Thompson Denver is located in Denver’s LoDo (Lower Downtown) area. The 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian street filled with shops and restaurants, is adjacent to the hotel, so guests have plenty to do nearby. It’s also an easy walk to the historic Union Station.
The Thompson Denver is a Category 5 hotel, and standard pricing is 20K/night. I booked a night at peak pricing, so my stay cost 23K points. Sadly, there were no standard suites available for upgrades on the night I checked in—who knew a Monday could be so busy! I was upgraded to a huge corner king room with three floor-to-ceiling windows offering a lot of light and a view of the 16th Street Mall.
Here’s the cost of the room that I actually got:
I loved the room and would return to stay here again. It had a very modern, luxury vibe and was huge. Thompsons tend to have dark décor, with navy and grey and a lot of dark wood in their properties to add to the luxurious vibe. But the large windows let in a lot of natural light, so it didn’t feel too dark.
Every area of the hotel was beautiful and pristine. I loved the luxury feel and the attention to details. Have I mentioned that I love a nice luxury hotel? 😜
I was welcomed as a Globalist at check-in and given a welcome letter and a list of my benefits. These included:
Everyone at the hotel offered impeccable service and was very attentive. The basement has a fitness center, but I didn’t use it. (Maybe next time?) The hotel also offers several experiences for a cost, including candy making.
My review of the Hyatt Thompson Denver was 100% favorable. I look forward to returning to it and enjoying dinner next time at Chez Maggy. Once again, Hyatt’s Thompson brand lives up to the reputation I feel it deserves.
