Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Pam

Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a group of almost 600 hotels in more than 90 countries that are independently owned and luxury-minded. If staying in a chain hotel isn’t your thing, and you like a unique experience, these hotels are perfect! They are smaller than chain hotels, averaging about 50 rooms, and offer an unparalleled experience.

They used to be bookable with Hyatt points, and we stayed at several during that time.  However, that partnership ended, and now they are partnered with Hilton. Many, but not all, are now bookable with Hilton Honors points and/or Hilton free night certificates.

When you book a Small Luxury Hotel of the World through Hilton, you get the following:

  • Complimentary continental breakfast for two—Hilton Gold and Diamond members
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Late check-out (based on availability)
  • Room upgrade (based on availability)—Hilton Gold and Diamond members

Here are some of the SLH places we’ve stayed at in the past – and believe me, they are nice!

Grand Victoria Concept and Spa, Lake Como Italy

This was my first SLH, and it was the epitome of luxury. Gorgeous at every turn with service to match.  I certainly felt like I was a high roller. We got our room upgraded, had late check-out, and had the most unbelievable breakfast each morning. I love Lake Como and would love to return and stay at the Grand Victoria Concept and Spa!

Canaves Oia Suites

Jess and Alex have stayed at Canaves Oia Suites in Santorini, Greece.  A truly luxurious hotel–they would return in a heartbeat! (This hotel is on my “must-stay” list with the Small Luxury Hotels of the World)!

Eichardt’s Private Hotel

On my trip to Queenstown, New Zealand, we often passed by the majestic Eichardt’s Private Hotel and it became a “must-stay” hotel. The location is perfect for wandering around the cute town of Queenstown and the hotel gives off undeniable luxury vibes.

Bottom Line

Staying at Small Luxury Hotels of the World with Hilton points is a great way to get a luxurious stay for free. We’ve stayed at some of them and hope to stay at more. We think they are a great value on their own, but they are amazing when you add on the free upgrades and breakfasts (depending on your status)! What SLH have you stayed at?

Do you know how early Canaves Alia can be booked? It looks like I can’t book 13 months in advance in the Hyatt app
