Capital One Venture X Business Review

Jess

The card_name is a great, easy-to-use, business card that each of us at Travel Mom Squad has and uses. There are many things to like about this card— and one thing to not like quite as much, so let’s get into our review of the Capital One Venture X Business.

The Welcome Offer

Obviously, we love that this card has a huge welcome but that minimum spend is going to be pretty tricky to hit for most people. If you have a business with a lot of expenses or need to pay estimated taxes (which was the case for us here at TMS), it might make hitting that minimum spend much easier! That really is the only thing we don’t like about this card. Besides the high minimum spend amount, there is a lot to like! So let’s get into some of those perks!

For Capital One products listed on this page, some of the above benefits are provided by Visa® or Mastercard® and may vary by product. See the respective Guide to Benefits for details, as terms and exclusions apply.

The Perks

As far as the benefits of the card go, it’s basically an exact copy of the personal card_name. With the Capital One Venture X Business, you’ll earn 2 miles per dollar you spend on all purchases, 5 miles per dollar spent on flights booked through Capital One Travel, and 10 miles per dollar spent on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. Additionally, this card includes a $300 travel credit to be used in the Capital One Travel portal. You’ll also get a $120 statement credit towards TSA PreCheck® or Global Entry.

Another thing we LOVE about this card is the lounge access it comes with. The primary cardholder and two guests get unlimited access to Capital One Lounges, Priority Pass Lounges, and Plaza Premium Lounges.

Each year on your account anniversary, you’ll be awarded 10,000 bonus miles.

The annual fee on this credit card is $395, which is more than offset by all of those benefits!

Other Considerations

Historically, Capital One business cards have counted towards 5/24. Fortunately, the Capital One Venture X Business does NOT count towards 5/24. Having the personal Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card does not prevent you from being approved for the business version.

The Capital One Venture X Business is also a “pay-in-full” card. That means you must pay your statement balance in full each month (but if you’re using credit card points and miles for travel, you should be doing this anyway)!

Who is the Capital One Venture X Business For?

Hitting the minimum spend on this card will net you 210,000 Capital One miles (remember that you’ll earn 2 miles for each dollar you spend on the $30,000 minimum spend). That’s an incredible amount of miles from one welcome offer. If you have a business that has a lot of expenses, or if you’re looking for one main business card to put all of your expenses on without worrying about spending categories, this card could make a lot of sense for you. For most people, that $30,000 minimum spend is likely unrealistic.

Bottom Line

If you’ve got a large amount of business expenses, the Capital One Venture X Business will net you a ton of miles. For those who can’t spend $30,000 in 3 months, there are still some great alternatives. The Chase Ink business cards are some of our favorites—the minimum spend requirements are much lower, and they won’t count towards 5/24. Will you be applying for the Capital One Venture X Business?
