Increase on the American Express Green Card

Pam

We talk more about the American Express Platinum and Gold cards, but a third American Express card earns Membership Rewards. And now’s the time to talk about it because there is an increase on the American Express Green Card welcome offer.

The welcome offer has increased from 40K to 60K Membership Rewards with 20% back on eligible travel and transit purchases made during your first six months, up to a total of $200 in statement credits. Because American Express has that once-in-a-lifetime rule on its cards, this is the perfect time to get it if you want to enter the world of Membership Rewards.

The American Express Platinum and Gold cards also have the addition of a statement credit up to $200 now—perfect if you’ve been eyeing either of them.

American Express Transfer Partners

Here are the partners that you can use with your Membership Rewards:

  • Aer Lingus
  • AeroMexico
  • Air Canada
  • Air France/KLM
  • ANA
  • Avianca
  • British Airways
  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
  • Delta
  • Emirates
  • Etihad
  • Hawaiian
  • Iberia
  • JetBlue
  • Qantas
  • Singapore
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Choice Hotels
  • Hilton Hotels
  • Marriott Hotels

Not sure how to use AMEX rewards? Try some of these ideas! I have used Membership Rewards for many international trips or Delta domestic flights after transferring them to one of those partners.

Bottom Line

Whether you just want to “try out” Membership Rewards or need some to top off your account, the increase on the American Express Green Card may be for you. How would you use the welcome offer?
