What Can You Do with 75K American Express Membership Rewards?

Pam

The American Express® Gold Card is one of our favorite credit cards. The annual fee of $250 is covered if you use the benefits it gives you. But what can you do with American Express Membership Rewards?  Let’s take a random amount like 75K and go over some ideas about what to do with them. Be sure to read our full review of the Gold card here.

Transfer 75K American Express Membership Rewards to Delta

If Delta is one of your favorite airlines, getting American Express Membership Rewards is a no-brainer for you. You may have received all the Delta miles you can from those credit cards and wish you could get more. Good news! Delta is a transfer partner of American Express, so you can get more Delta SkyMiles by opening up an American Express Gold card or another American Express Membership Rewards card.

When Alex and I went to Maui two years ago to get out of the winter snow, I transferred some AMEX Membership Rewards to Delta to book my flight. It was a last-minute trip that we still talk about!

Fly To Paris

What can 75,000 Membership Rewards do for you? How about a roundtrip flight to Paris for two people? You and another person can visit the City of Lights for less than 75K total! Transfer your Membership Rewards to AirFrance to book these tickets.

Round Trip Tickets To Hawaii

This is really a good deal! Usually, it takes about 45,000 miles for a roundtrip ticket to Hawaii from the mainland. If you fly out of LAX, PHX, SEA, PDX, SAN (basically somewhere on the west coast that offers direct flights to Hawaii on AA or Alaska), you can travel there for only 26,000 miles. With this deal, you can get two round-trip tickets with this one welcome offer!

Fly Business Class to Spain

Prior to COVID, we had a girl’s trip to Barcelona planned, and Alex and I were flying from Boston to Barcelona on Iberia Airlines for 43,000 miles one-way in business class. You can transfer American Express Membership Rewards to Iberia for miles. Sadly, we had to postpone that trip, but the deal is still available.

If you just want to go to Madrid, it is only 34,000 miles for business class! You can go roundtrip with your welcome offer at this price. Economy class is a steal, too!

 Bottom Line

Don’t forget about American Express Membership Rewards when you plan to travel. They have excellent travel partners, not only for international flights but also for domestic flights on their partners. Now that you’ve seen what you can do with 75K American Express Membership Rewards, which card will you be applying for next?

When you stated you could book a trip to maui from LAX, was that using the American Express travel portal? You talked about using Alaskan (I flry from PDX) but Alaskan is not partners with Amer Express. Or is there a different way? I have searched all of Amer Ex travel partners and was not able to find flights from my PDX to OGG. Qatar never loaded when I attempted multiple times to see if they had flights.

You look and book on British Airways with Avios. The site isn’t working for me to check that it still works for these flights but I’ll check later today.
