Is Denver the New Airport Lounge King?

Pam

I am so happy that I fly out of Denver International Airport. There are three AMAZING airport lounges now! As a self-proclaimed airport lounge geek, this girl couldn’t be happier. The question I have for today has to be, “Is Denver the new airport lounge king?” I think it could be – here are the amazing lounges that Denver offers.

Denver American Express Centurion Lounge

The Denver American Express Centurion Lounge has long been my go-to when traveling from Denver, as I often do. It has a nice buffet and many seating options. However, despite them no longer allowing guests with the American Express Platinum Card, it is still very crowded. I do have one business card that they allow me to bring in a guest with, so I am assuming others do, too.

I love my Denver Centurion Lounge, but it has been very overcrowded lately – not like this at all!

I used to enjoy the food more when the lounge first opened, and it has become less enjoyable now as they tend to offer the same thing over and over again. It is a beautiful lounge with a variety of seating spaces, two bars, and a place where you can package snacks to go. I will continue to use this lounge, but maybe not as much since there are now some other good options.

Denver United Club Lounges

The old United Club lounges were really, really outdated, and I never would use my two complimentary passes from my United Explorer card to enter them. United updated the two lounges in Terminal B and added an additional lounge to Terminal A, and they are really just gorgeous. The decor is stunning, there are multiple seating areas, and the food is very good. I never thought that I would say this, but having only two passes a year is not going to do it for this airport lounge geek. I will apply for the United Club card to have access whenever I want – they are really that nice!

The United Club in Terminal A has a cool Colorado vibe.

Additionally, the plan is to open a Polaris Lounge in Terminal A, and those are my favorite lounges when I am traveling business class. Could I be any more excited? There are so many cookie skillets in my future!

The famous cookie skillet at United Polaris Lounges excites me that Denver is getting one!

Denver Capital One Lounge

The newest addition to Denver is the Capital One Lounge. It is located in Terminal A near gate 34. You can read Jess’ review of the one in Dallas here. She spent a whole day enjoying this lounge!

My favorite part of these lounges is how they package their food in cute containers. They also have grab-and-go items that are great when you don’t have much time.

Beyond this check-in area are the to-go food items that you can load into a paper bag!

Recently, we headed to the Capital One Lounge on our way to the Maldives. My husband was really impressed with it and immediately liked it better than the Centurion Lounge. It helped that it was a slow day at the airport.

We were warmly greeted, and check-in was quick with my Capital One Venture X card. There were multiple sitting areas, relaxation areas, and plenty of food. I asked about the Peloton’s that Jess had used in Dallas, but they don’t have them here as they said they don’t get used much at the other lounges.

Rather than large platters of food, it is individually portioned.

The dessert area is my favorite, of course. Again, there are some small bags to package treats to-go.

Bottom Line

Denver has three outstanding, gorgeous United Club Lounges, a Capital One Lounge, and an American Express Centurion Lounge. It is also scheduled to have a Polaris Lounge in the future. Is Denver the New Airport Lounge King? If you ask me, the answer is a resounding YES! Let me know what you think when you connect in Denver or travel from there – all I know is that it will be hard now to decide what lounge to spend my time in! Is a little lounge-hopping going to happen for Pam now?
