Our Top Posts From 2024

Pam

I thought it might be fun to look at our top posts from 2024. The interesting thing is that some of them are posts we wrote years ago—but our readers still return to them!  I’ll list each of our readers’ top posts from this year and then our top posts that were actually published in 2024. Which ones were your favorites?

1. Earn Hyatt Globalist Status Without Staying 60 Nights

We love our Globalist status and plan to get it every year. If you travel a lot, it makes a huge difference! If you think you might want to go for Globalist, our tips can really help you map out a good strategy.  And if you’re not sure whether trying for Globalist status would be worth it, we have some guidance about that, too.

2. Our Favorite Search Engines to Book Award Travel

Earning credit card points and miles is the easy part of this hobby. Redeeming them is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle—satisfying in the end, but a real process! Search engines make it much easier, point us in the right direction, and save us a lot of time.

3. Getting a Hotel Upgrade

So many of our readers have had amazing success getting a hotel upgrade using our template. In fact, they often get better upgrades than we do! If you have a birthday or anniversary during your stay, if you’re visiting a city for the very first time, or if you have some other special occasion happening that might be worth mentioning, trying out our template could help you score a free upgrade, even without hotel status.

4. How to Qualify for a Business Credit Card

Once again, one of our most popular posts for 2024 has topped charts for several years. Think you don’t have a business and can’t get a business credit card? Think again and read this post. Business credit cards are a huge part of our strategy.

5. Great Ways to Use a 50K Marriott Certificate

I was surprised that this post was in our top ten this year because you know we’re usually Team Hyatt! But even with dynamic pricing, Marriott Bonvoy is still a program many people love and can find good value in. One of the popular Marriott welcome offers includes earning multiple certificates for hotel stays priced up to 50K Marriott Bonvoy points. This post is the perfect one to help you figure out how to use those 50K free-night certificates.

6. Can I Get A Business Card?

Once again, obtaining business cards is a new concept for many of our readers and this post proves that people are really intrigued with this idea. If the idea of business cards interests you, read this post AND number 4!

7. Best Hyatt Hotels to Use a Free-Night Certificate

We love a good Hyatt hotel, and there are a few ways to get a free-night certificate. In this post, we share some of our favorite places to use one and some of our readers’ favorite stays. If your favorite stay isn’t on our list, please let us know so we can add it!

8. Transfer Bonuses and Sales on Points

We update this post every month and it remains one of our most popular features each year. We have some savvy followers who know that points and miles go further if we can use a transfer bonus before booking. Transfer bonuses are something we use as often as possible so we can get even better deals with our award bookings.

9. How to Earn the Southwest® Companion Pass

One of the best deals in travel is the Southwest® Companion Pass. Our readers love flying on Southwest® Airlines with their families and the companion pass makes their travels even more affordable.  Alex frequently travels with her family of six, using two companion passes so two people fly for nearly free, and then using points for the other four travelers.  Our THM Podcast: #45 Deep Dive into the Southwest Companion Pass is a great listen if you want to learn more.
